The objective of the course is to impart necessary competencies (with the focus on technical competencies like skill and knowledge ) so that they become employable in the small scale tailoring industry and are able to set up an own tailor’s shop.
The main focus of the training is on stitching operations and basic pattern making.
Since the industrial production will be of increasing importance in the domestic market the tailor’s shops will be in a more competitive situation. There force, it is very important that the training of Cutting & Sewing performance in the tailor’s shops.
At the conclusion of the Period of their Training, the Trainees shall be able to perform the following skills:-
- Convert given pattern designs in to a pattern for individual measurement and to stitch a dress accordingly to an agreed quality standard.
- Organize, plan and evaluate their work independently (methodical competency) and to estimate the material required.
- Carryout simple wiring ckts. Earthing installation, undertake, laying of domestic wirings.
- Apply basic techniques for pattern manipulation.
The course content is to be covered in less than 52 weeks a year since some weeks will be used for enrolment procedures, leave of the instructor, holidays, examination and tests, industrial visits etc.
